We're thrilled to introduce Verum, our new architectural hardware partner from Italy.
Verum has done something that very few door lever vendors have pulled off successfully: the elimination of the rose on a door handle. The rose, also known as rosette or escutcheon, serves an important function — it hides the door handle spring mechanism as well as all connecting bolts, sleeves, and screws.
In 2019 Verum unveiled its revolutionary door handle collection called Nuda. A completely re-imaged mounting system of the Verum Nuda architectural hardware allows the door handle to be attached to the door without the traditional rectangular or round rosette. The patented system allows smooth rotation of the handles and eliminates any possible friction with the door panel. It's no coincidence that the collection bears the name Nuda, Italian for "naked".
Our Dorsis Fortius flush-with-the-wall frameless doors can be equipped with all six product lines of the Verum Nuda system:
The Verum Nuda system is available in several beautiful modern finishes:
The Nuda system is compatible with both mechanical and magnetic mortise locks, allowing us to use this unique and minimalistic line of door hardware on our standard Dorsis Fortius interior doors as well as Dorsis Fortius Safety RC2 security doors for safe rooms, wine rooms, and similar spaces that need to be locked. For security locks, the Nuda collection offers cylinder hole escutcheon.
The Verum Nuda collection was conceived by Alessandro Stabile, a Milan-based industrial designer and founder of an eponymous design firm. He and his firm worked on product design for countless notable companies, including Alessi, Moleskin, De'Longhi, or LaCividina.
The initial Nuda collection had three product lines — Lieve, Baar, and Pepe — each representing a slightly different aesthetic: Lieve is the minimal handle, Baar is the rectangular one, and Pepe represents the more sculptural one. Nuda received the Yed Award at the Yellow Expo Day 2019 for Best Product in the hardware and accessories category.
Later, designer Mattia Ferremi added Pure and Wind product lines to the Nuda collection, and the in-house R&D team at Verum added Atlanta.
Verum Italy was founded in 2012 by Umberto Vergani. Since then the brand has become synonymous with innovative European door and furniture hardware, popular with top architectural studios worldwide, including many of those with whom we at Angelbau work regularly.
Headquartered in Bulciago in the Italian province of Locco just north of Milan, Verum is a proud promoter of Made in Italy door hardware design and manufacturing traditions.
