If your residential project calls for a unified door design with natural wood veneer finish, look no further than European white oak veneer in unique CoCo treatment.
CoCo veneers are natural wood veneers from European white oak trees, with the veneer color normalized across each veneer sheet to provide a uniform look and feel. The term "CoCo" is an abbreviation of "Constant Color".
The primary benefit of European White Oak CoCo veneers is the consistency in appearance, which makes it easier for interior door makers such as Dorsis and cooperating cabinet makers to match individual sheets and create large, seamless surfaces without much color deviation, which would be typical for natural veneers.
The color consistency of CoCo veneers is especially critical in large-format projects such as feature wood panel walls — which often include jib doors or built-in shelves — or in projects requiring incremental, multi-phase development, for example, when the architect or builder plans to complete an ADU after the primary residence.
The unique light, medium, and dark shades of CoCo veneers are achieved through an environmentally friendly manufacturing technique that accelerates the natural color change in wood veneer, replicating the naturally occurring process that creates bog oaks. Technically, the CoCo veneer process uses water pressure and heat to mimic natural aging and deeply imbue warm brown or grey tones into the wood. The coloring is stable and highly UV-resistant as the wood is completely dyed. This method helps ensure that colors are consistent from tree trunk to tree trunk. However, as with all natural wood, the grain will slightly change between tree trunks.
At Angelbau, we present our custom Fortius filomuro doors and sliding doors in four shades of the white oak CoCo veneer: Taupe CoCo, Cognac CoCo, Coffee CoCo, and Nero CoCo.
